Platanico Wines & Spirits Ltd was founded in Cyprus in 1922 by Christodoulos Platanis, starting as a producer of wines, spirits and vinegar, with vinegar being produced using the traditional method using barrels.

After the founder, the baton was taken over by the second generation, namely his son, Michalakis Platanis, who contributed decisively to the development of the company. He was a pioneer in the production of vinegar using an acetator and undertook the bottling of BOLS products (vodka, gin, rum and liqueur), while at the same time preserving and developing traditional Cypriot products, such as zivania, commandaria and ouzo. The company also established the production of deionized water, pure and denatured alcohol as well as alcoholic beverages.

Today, under the guidance of the third generation, Christodoulos and Ianthi Platanis, the company continues its dynamic development, automating almost all stages of production and developing products, while maintaining tradition and high quality. In addition, the fourth generation, with Maria Platani and Michalis Peleties, actively participates in the company’s course, with the aim of continuing its history, development and continuous evolution, strengthening its dynamic presence in the market and its commitment to excellence.
