Platanico Wines & Spirits Ltd is a prime producer of vinegar, pure alcohol, distilled water, and alcoholic beverages.

Platanico Wines & Spirits traces its origins back to 1922 when its founder Christodoulos Platanis undertook the responsibility of producing wines and spirits on behalf of his former employer N.H.Tavernaris Freres. during his 10 year tenure as production supervisor for N.H.Tavernaris freres mr. platanis became versed with the traditional methods of wine and spirit production, techniques that he transferred to his newly founded company Chr. Platanis and Co Ltd.

In 1937 Mr. Platanis founded the first brewery in Cyprus. Leon, a premium lager, became a household name. for his efforts in the advancement of brewery, Mr. Platanis has proudly been named the father of the brewing industry in Cyprus.
